Just headed out to float down the daily section of the Colorado with some friends.

No it does not give much shade, and it can't help my mileage either. But it is so much fun to float down the river on a hot summer day.

It has been almost 15 years now since I could get my wife to go on a river trip. The last time she went was on the San Juan river and the wind kicked up and blew upstream (doesn't it always) so hard she could hardly paddle her kayak. She was so angry she vowed she wouldn't go again. But we're just going to cross the Colorado to try and find a geocache, so it can't be too bad. If this works out I'll try to talk her into a 3 or 4 day float down Labyrinth Canyon on the Green River. Wish me luck.
