Junkyard run Memorial day weekend

As patrick said on a different thread, the houston pick a part is going to have half price weekend that weekend. Was seeing who all is wanting to go out there. I need to pull front and rear axles for my jeep and really could use some help. Will also be very happy to help anybody else pull parts. Im gonna be bringing a truck to haul my parts, but if anybody else is wanting big parts as well, I can also bring a trailer.

Yup that saturday would be great. Would like to get there as soon as they open. Especially if i take the trailer, as the parking gets a bit tricky on half price weekends.

I will be there for sure Saturday(5/25) at about 7:30... last time i went i was lucky to get the parts that i had scouted out the day before... I went last weekend and hid a few KIA parts already so A, they wouldnt get picked, and B, they would be crushed... Vehicles in there have about 60 days to be picked before getting crushed.

I will be scouting again this weekend(Saturday morning) for both KIA and JEEP parts. 'Lil let me know if you would like to join

Patrick I'm going to be doing the ARB locker soon, and I'd like to do the disc brake conversion. If you have time, check and see if there are any Liberties out there.

Oh, no no no. Not sure one the width but they run coils rear. I'm pretty sure there's there differences too. I meant i need the axle from a XJ AND brakes parts from a libby.

When I pulled mine last year on Memorial day, there happened to be multiple 97+ 8.25 in there... Too bad its all up to chance...

Man I wish we had multiple yards, or at least one with some decent quantity of Jeeps that I can remove parts from!!

Well Patrick and I went and looked at 2 junkyards today. Found tons of XJ's with 8.25 rears, and quite a few of em are 97+. Most of the XJ's we found were 2wd and I couldnt find a decent D30 for myself. Only found 1 liberty with disc brakes(all parts still there) and a few ZJ's with rear discs(will work also). Also found one jeep with a perfect 97+ front end in case anybody wants to update the look of their 96 and older jeep. Still plan on going next weekend and pulling one of the 97+ rears for my jeep.

Jimbo, Okay well lets head to the jamaican one... I ended up getting that kia up in Dallas last weekend. I am likely going to pull that nice 97+ front end for myself... And then head over to the other one to look for the A/C line that I need.

Okay, so you guys aren't gonna be at LKQ? I planned on meeting up with you guys at that one around 10 am if you guys think you'll still be there since that's the one you guys were talking about originally. I am mainly looking for rear disc swap parts, most likely from a liberty. But trying to talk with Matt on the specifics. Also, need a few trim pieces from older style XJs. I am doubting anybody is gonna have the '97+ 8.25 3.55 gears with the lsd. Since you have been to both, which do you think i have the best chance?

The one I posted above has two lsd's from what I can tell. I blocked off one tire and was not able to spin the other... the Jamaican one also has a libby with rear discs

They were both auto... more than likely both will be 3.55, I know one was for sure

Kinda a bust, for the reasons i originally had anyways. The liberty had drums, and that white XJ 8.25 was open. No lsd equipped 8.25s anywhere. Got a few other pieces to make up for it though. :D
