I did a rear bumpstop mod for my 5" lift. I had two 1" square tubes to extend down the factory bumpstop but that was not enough so I took it a step further and got a better setup.

This setup worked OK but wasn't enough bumpstop to keep my springs from inverting too much. I could have extended it more but I didn't like the looks of it and wanted something much stronger.

I ordered up some bumpstops from Summit Racing and some leaf spring bumpstop plates from DPG Off Road.

Total was $95 for both parts. Not exactly cheap but if you wanna do it right, then spend some money.

The mod is quite simple. Just remove the stock spring plate and stock bumpstop and install dpg's plate with the bumpstop attached. His plates are designed for his 1/2" spacers but I drilled a center hole for the bumpstop. It works the same way.

That's about it. These bumpstops should give me a soft landing if I ever decide to catch some air.

Usual excellent writeup.:D Very clean nice looking install! Me likes..... I have a piece of 2x3" tubing between the frame and factory bumpstop right now, about the same as you had.

How about some part numbers from Summit Racing? And maybe some dimensions on the plates. Just length, width, and thickness. Pleaze!

I'll get dimensions tomorrow. It's dark out. I know it's 3/8" thick.
