So I was on Facebook last night and a member of the local Jeep group posted requesting recovery assistance about 8pm. He was stuck in a ditch 5 miles north of my house, unfortunately I was home alone with my 3 kids. About an hour later the wife got home and ol' boy was still stuck so I loaded up and headed out. To get to him I had to go through a 40 yard mud bog and a deep water crossing. About the time I make it over the hill to where he was stuck I see a Silverado go sliding into the opposite ditch. Great, now a double rescue. Another Jeeper was ready on scene but nobody had winch, tho a group member with a winch was on his way from 30 miles away. Once he arrive we chained his YJ to the JK already in position but the ZJ was so stuck it was dragging the YJ and JK through the slop. The kid with kid with the Silverado called for reinforcements. While we waited, in the middle of nowhere in the dark the coyotes started hauling all around as is the where organizing an ambush. Eventually the other trucks arrived and easily pulled out the Silverado, however it took that Silverado chained to a 3/4 ton dodge strapped to the YJ hooked to the back of the ZJ using raw power to get it out. On the out the mud holes I had originally went through seemed longer and deeper. At one point I had to wiper off my head lights to even see where I was going. The little XJ was a trooper and did great.
Sorry there isn't more pics, it was dark, cold, and I was covered in mud.
That thing is stuck in a 7ft hole, dropped right in. Didn't seem to be any damage to the front, don't know about underneath. The picture does not due it justice.
