I'm sure you two know, but start soaking those bolts on the rear upper shock mounts now! Wouldn't hurt to do the rest of the bolts too. Congrats, you'll be sitting on top of the world soon, literally.

Totally down to install! Just gotta figure out which weekend! I am anxiously waiting for my shipping details. The lift should be here next week but we're busy that weekend volunteering at the MS 150 :P

There's more on WranglerTalk.com I like the picture she took and embellished the best. It's one thing when she says she likes what I'm doing to her Jeep it's another when she takes the time to do a picture then post it on instagram. :D

BFGs will last you longer with mediocre mud performance. got those on my DD truck. Wranglers will have the best off road performance with shorter life. It all depends on how many road miles you plan on putting on them. My two cents anyway.

I don't really put that many miles on my Jeep, period. I won't be mudding it as much as driving it around town and the beach here and there... I did take it for a drive to New Braunfels last summer and would like to do trips like that in the future but I doubt I'll put more than 2K miles a year on it. So all in all I think I'm going for more look since both brands seem to be rated pretty close...

I want my Jeep to look sexy and a little aggressive :D

Oh how the apartment people would have judged you.

Well I really look forward (for you) to the moment you see your YJ lifted and the first moment you experience what it's like to be able to see all around. Love lifted vehicles.

Bigger tires are only slightly more fun than a good lift.

I remember when I lifted my 1983 Chevy truck. Only 4" lift, but with those 36.5 inch tires, well the bottom of the door jam hit me about mid thigh. I had to use the steering wheel to pull my way into the seat. I miss my old mud truck/land yacht!

The lifted Jeep is so much more practical and goes many more places though!

Haha! The apartment people didn't look at me funny when I had a bumper delivered :P I didn't want to burden them with heaviness and multiple packages, nor did I want UPS to possibly miss the office being open haha!

Well, I've already got custom rims but might ditch them for black steel ones that apparently "everyone" puts on their jeeps. I'm looking at getting BF Goodrich All Terrains. 33" 10.05 15 (did I do that right?)... I'm going to see if Discount will match my amazon price on the tires! Haha!

I love it!! I meant that mine might sit a little lower than a TJ with 4" lift because I read somewhere the YJ were built a little lower stock to appeal to more women (??).... Still learning here so correct me if I'm wrong ;) I realize not everything we read on the internets iiiiiis true hehe!

Yes, it will be a little lower. The lower stance is a result of people like Nader's Raiders. The late 70s CJs with their "computer designed suspension" were like a round bottom boat in a storm. The hard tops were worse. They really were unsafe. So they built them wider and lower with a heavy sway bar on them so they would corner.
