Someday, I'll be going from my 32x11.5x15 BFGs to 33x12.5x15 BFGs. I have a 5th tire/wheel that isn't being used.

With open diffs is there any reason I couldn't keep the 32" as a spare and use it until I could repair/replace the 33" tire?

This is what i plan on doing. I wanna know too. I suppose if your open/open the slight differance shouldn't matter.

It wont Hurt anything, as long as the 33" side of the axel can slip.

I'm running 31" spare with my 32" tires. As long as its not locked and your just using it to get you home you should be fine

I would put it on the front axle though. If you are on the street and in 2wd there wont be any power going to the front. I would think it would help limit the possibility of binding...

With open diffs you won't have any issues running a slightly smaller spare. Even in 4WD the 1" difference isn't going to be that significant. If you were locked it'd be a different story.

That's what I was thinking but it is always good to get other's opinions.

yea definately... and if you think about it, and if my geometry isn't incorrect, it's actually just a .5" difference when they meet the pavement - which is even less significant.

you should be fine. you see the wrangler guys running a smaller spaire just for the weight on the back of the jeep with no problems.
