Hi I went through my XJ and checked all the fuses. What I had are good. But it appears I'm missing some.

Number 16 has power to the side w/o the red wire. No power is going to the wire. What is this fuse for? I don't want to add one because I'm not sure what the wire goes to. BTW I do have an Autopage alarm installed, but no remotes for it. It is currently disabled. Not sure if power is going to it. The guy I bought the XJ from didn't mention it. I'm going to buy a remote online and see if it works. Also besides the valet switch for the alarm. I have two mystery switches. One rocker near where your right knee would be while driving. Then another push switch under the dash about a foot away from the valet switch. I have no idea what they go to. The rocker on the side has wires running to it. I have tried that switch and nothing happened. The push switch under the dash I have not tried.

Looks like my ABS doesn't work because all the fuses/relay for it are gone. I'm guessing to turn off the ABS light? What I am wondering are the 30a and 40a fuses that are missing. What do they connect to?

Everything on my XJ works except, rear back up lights, ac/heater blower, and rear window wiper. I have already installed a new heater capacitor, have not tired to test the blower directly. I was hoping my BU lights would just be a fuse, most likely the NSS need to be changed out.

Any help is appreciated thanks.

He reason for the missing fuses is for the certain options yours came equipped with. Such as, if your XJ didn't have power windows from the factory the fuse slot for power windows would be empty as there would be no need for one.

So, if its missing a certain fuse most likely your XJ didn't come with that option. But, be it problems or just lack of knowledge some people remove fuses. If you have an owners manual you can look in there for options to the corresponding fuse slots. And just check your jeep for this options. And if you find you do have that option, stick a fuse in (fuse panel should say appropriate fuse) and see. If it works great, if not, find out why.

Looks like you're missing the fuses for the rear wiper and the cig lighter/radio.
