I wish we could get the diesel versions of many of the trucks and SUV's outside the US..:sad0147:

I know I could talk my wife into a Ford Everest or Endeavor...they are still real SUV's:D

Why are all the trucks and SUV's in the American market so blasted....car-like?

The non-US Toyota's and Rangers have all the "needed" luxury things...CD, A/C, power windows, etc...but they still have REAL tie-downs in the bed, "headache" racks, etc. They still look like TRUCKS!

Diesels in cars have yet to make it in the US. Gas engines are much more fun to drive, maybe with a few exceptions. It is not that they cannot do it, it is a marketing thing

Yep .... amuses me when Chrysler U.S. says they are looking at diesels in coming models ... Its as if they forgot they already have diesels in 'em ... in other countries ... and have had for years ...

Is it California holding things back ?? ... with their over the top emission rules, as the euros have some high standards to meet - regarding emissions.

And on a side note ... t'was a little ford allwheeldrive station wagon in the drive today ...

sighhhh .... if only the XJ had a factory 6spd auto and turboed, 4.0l i6 ... like the ford .. :D

Could be. We have declared war on diesels. Zero emissions

... altho ... rumour is - Ford Aust is looking at the "Everest" this year.
... maybe its going to replace the Aust., Ford Falcon based, turbo 4.0l i6 or diesel ... "Territory" model that was parked in my driveway yesterday ??

... which looked like this ... without all the trimmings.

I wish they would bring diesel version of stuff here to the states... at least give the option to get the diesel when there is a version of it... I wish they offered the Toyota diesel trucks (Diesel Hilux overseas) in the US... especially with the SFA like it has been offered at least up until a year or so ago in other countries... I'd purchase one of those in a heartbeat...

No kidding, I put a 4x4 manual diesel HiLux through its paces, and it impressed the heck out of me. If they were available in the US, there would be one already parked out side, and I would not care about the car payment.
