Im thinking if it can be straightend and I add 1/4" bumper brackets along the frame it should be strong enough, has anyone else had to straighten a frame on a xj ?

I sure hate to see that.

Anything can be fixed, it's just a matter of money and time.

They just put it on a frame straighter, pull, beat, and measure. Rinse and repeat.

I added more pics do you think the cut in the frame will be a problem,Im adding 1/4" bracet for a bumper in that area.

No I meant what happened to cause the damage on your XJ?

The body damage was mostly caused by a deer I hit at about 50-60 mph, the frame I found out was from a previous wreck it was in before I bought it,I failed to get a carfax before I bought it (shame on me) and there was a lot of hidden
damage on it and my insurance company used that against me on the settlement. The dealer I bought it from is going to straighten the frame and help me get the body parts ordered, but it will never be right. Now Im going to add a heavy duty front bumper and make a grill guard (deer beware).

Wow! I think I'm deer proof now, unless they are reindeer, of the flying kind.

If the frame shop takes the job of straightening the frame/unibody then they think it will be OK when they finish. I would just repair it as straight as posible and plate the frame in that area. It will then be stronger than stock.
P.S. Next time use a rifle when deer hunting.

You know I should have thought of that, but its not rifle season yet and I forgot to get a tag and that just leaves road hunting and Im 5 for 5 with that.

Well you have to fill the freezer any way you can. This way there is no tags or licence required. No dates to worry about and the game warden is not involved. (Just the bodyman) LOL

I've been wondering how the repairs have been going. Very nice, and a great excuse to replace the bumper. Are you planning on painting the grill yellow? Not that important I suppose but I think it would look better.

All in all everything looks back to normal! :patriot:

We decided on black, the wife wanted less yellow, next will be a smittybilt xrc10 ,offroad lights and grill guard. The frame will be straighted this week.Iv'e been trying to get bushwackers at less than retail, had a whole set spotted on craigslist for 200.00 but the guy flaked out on me.
