Mardi Gras Mudfest (Muddy Gras) 2013

Anybody planning on going to Muddy Gras in march?
I'm gonna be there with the purple 90, dads taking my 87 XJ, my boss is takin his 94 Grand, buddy bringin his 93 isuzu rodeo (lol) and abunch of my other friends,
supposedly my buddies buggy is coming but instead of his 305 engine, hes got a fresh 454 :D
now i just gotta get my dana 35 welded and a new alternator and i'm ready!
oh and new steering box for the 87.............always buyin parts

I almost want to meet at the shop first and get a quick once-over to make sure I'm good to go. Got some noise happening.... not positive, but might've narrowed it down to the front leaf spring bushing on the driver's side. :(

I guess we could. But there isnt anything would could check there, that we couldnt check at creekside in the parking lot before we wheel. The best way to narrow down any weak link....is to wheel the piss out of it and see what breaks :D

Put a bottle of "Slime" in em. Worked great on my mud kings.

And to the rest of the Houston folks, if your jeep isnt up and running or you dont wanna get it dirty.....im sure a few folks will have empty passenger seats. I know I will. I promise you wish you brought your own jeep though.

I'm gonna try my damndest to get my Jeep back in running order before Saturday but other commitments are gonna make it tough to get everything buttoned up. If I can't get it together, my girlfriend and I would still like to come up and meet everyone and possibly ride along with some of you. I'll bring my camera along so I can offer some hi-res snapshots of your XJs in action in return for the ride :)

Well the xj is ready to go. Got the swaybar disconected, threw my spare and tools in the back and fixed the passenger seat.

Cool, Timmy is gonna meet me at my house around 8 and we'll caravan up there. He's bringing his truck, so he and his girlfriend are gonna ride along with us.

We had an amazing time at Muddy Gras yesterday! A huge thanks to Little Jim for letting us ride along in his super capable XJ all day. It was awesome to finally get a chance to meet some of the fine folks from XJ Talk in person! Thanks to Matt, Big Jim, Patrick, and Tony for helping to make our first Muddy Gras a memorable experience! :)
