Rob's reply: The front bumper is from JCR Offroad. They have updated the design a bit - but its essentially the same. I can't say enough good things about JCR. Pretty much all my armor is JCR. I am a driving poster child for JCR!

Chris sent these "before" and "after" pics of his 2 dr XJ. The before is with a lift & 31s. For the "after" he added our V2 Fender Flares and was able to fit 33s!

Quick back story: My father purchased this XJ new in 1996, the same year I turned 16. He let me choose which Jeep to get, knowing that one day she will be mine. He kept her stock for 16 years, and last year she became mine.

Thanks to Blaine for posting this pic of his freshly installed V2 Fender Flares. We've not checked every brand, but we're pretty sure our flares provide more clearance for bigger tires and more articulation than any other brand!

So what would I need to do to paint my Napier Flares? Just sand them down and prep as normal?

Good question! Our fender flares paint pretty easy. There is a painting guide included with the installation instructions that come with our fender flares. Go to the last page for the painting tips. V2 Fender Flares - Installation Guide (http://www.napierprecisionproducts.com/media/V2%20Quick%20Install%20Guide.pdf)

The paint guide suggests using a Scotch Brite or 3M scuff pad which is not as abrasive as sandpaper. Clean 'em, scuff 'em, wipe them down,clean 'em again, apply Adhesion Promoter, paint x3+. Clear coat if desired. For a high quality paint job, it is important to use an Adhesion Promoter and follow the instructions on the can. Adhesion Promoter is available in spray cans at most auto parts stores. The adhesion promoter temporarily softens the plastic allowing the spray paint to bond with the surface of the fender flares.

I would like to thank Napier for making such a tuff product. Today I had to bump up a ledge and hit a rock on the side hard enough to take the Bedliner off my rock slider and rash the hell out of the slider , the rock hit my door and flare the door is dented and flare is fine only thing that happened was the 2 lower bolts pulled out of the door but the rubber spacers kept the hardware intact so I was able to rescrew then in ! Great stuff guys I am happy with my purchase!

V2 Fender Flare Features:
- Made from textured scratch resistant ABS thermoplastic. The same material as other brands use but significantly THICKER! (At least twice as thick as the BW knockoffs we've seen!) Higher quality and tougher at a competitive price.

- Extend out from the Jeep around 3.25" which is perfect to cover most common over sized tire/wheel setups that we run. Covers the tires but doesn't make your XJ as wide as a bus.

- Blend really well with the body lines of the Jeep Cherokee. We designed the V2 Flares on an XJ running 10.5"-12.5" wide tires with aftermarket wheels so they look nearly OEM.

- Warranty: V2 Fender Flares aren't indestructible and while we don't have a formal written warranty, the V2 Flares get broken so seldom that we usually replace them at 50% off for verified previous customers.

Armor and other stuff
- V2 Fender Flares are available for XJs that have the lower rear quarter panel cut and folded up for increased ground clearance and departure angle. No one else makes fender flares for this modification!
- Rock Rails: Since V2 Flares don't wrap all the way down under the body it's a lot easier to mount rock rails.
- Snorkel info: Airflow snorkels, or any snorkel that mounts above the body line, will work with the V2 Fender Flares.
- Armor: During manufacturing, we can adjust the width of the fender flares to account for armor on the rear quarter panel. (Just let us know when placing your order!) Our V2 Pocket Flares cover most 33" or 31" tire setups on typical backspaced wheels just about perfectly. That looks the best on XJs and provide off road protection from debris flying off the tires while letting the tires do their job too!

We're getting pretty excited about this improved version of Flat Flares. Simple to install & to take off too. Tough as always and we think, they're better looking.

Not the most built XJ but it worked for testing the Flat Flares. These Flat Flares use black anodized SS screws on the underside so they're still easy to access but blend in. This pic is without the edging installed that trims up any minor gaps between the sheet metal and the flare.

I like them. Will they fit a cut fender by chance, or are they designed to bolt to a stock fender?

These flares are designed so the fenders have to be cut. Compared to our V2 Pocket Flares, the front opens up a lot more room. The rear doesn't open up quite as much because of the unibody construction and the screws being underneath the flare. They also use an insert of 3/16" ABS plastic that fastens to the sheet metal inside the flare. The insert is tough enough to hold the screws for the flat flare if they're missing the sheet metal. We've done this on a couple of XJs now and we're pleased with how well it works.

Together, they provide 35 square inches of ventilation and since the vent slots are vertical, they keep out most of the rain and other weather that can mess with the engine electronics.

Yeah, you're right a 4 door, without regular doors, would look awkward with our V2 Fender Flares. But use our new Flat Flares and it wouldn't be an issue at all since they don't mount to the door.

i seen that. i kinda like the flats cuz you can set tools and pop cans on them :) are they just as tuff though(as in how they mount)

They are probably a bit tougher in how they mount. The screws are located around the underside of the flare. There is also an "insert" that mounts to the sheet metal and goes inside the flare. The insert keeps the top of the flare from trying to move around. The V2 Fender Flares don't have that.

Then here you can easily see the flange underneath the flare for the screws and how much sheet metal cuts out to fit bigger tires.

The Napier Precision Flat Flares really turned out well. Here's Justin D's XJ with our Flat Flares. They leave room for rock rails and don't mount to the rear door.

Quarter Fold Flat Flares from Napier Precision Products.

Tim B did a great job of installing our Flat Flares for XJs with the lower rear quarter panel cut N folded! (QF Mod). They also leave room for rock rails & sliders without having to cut up the fender flares.
