Hello from Oregon,
Just thought I'd join the community because I am starting to get serious about buildin' up my XJ and thought it would be a good idea to get some input and advice from the experts, such as yourselves. Also, in the future, I hope I can help out other newbies who want to do the same thing.
I bought my 4.0L, 5-speed manual XJ about a year ago. All stock and I great condition. Now that I'm out of highschool and have a stable job, I have the money to build, so that's what I'm gonna do.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'll be on frequently trying to learn as much as I can.

Josh

They looked at me funny when I asked them if they had a 4x4 Cherokee with a standard transmission. Said they'd have to order it from the factory.

Glad to have you. If you don't already know I'll warn you about that Dana 35 rear end. It is a known issue. Good news is the Chrysler 8.25 are easy to find and cheap.

It took me a LONG TIME to find a 4x4 XJ with a standard tranny. For about 3 month I couldnt find one anywhere in Oregon (that was decent). I had to go up to Seatlle to get mine. I love it.

Thanks again.

I hear the rock guys like the auto's. When I think of 4x4 "off road" I think standard.
