did not have much of a choice was winching and it was running and bam killed the battery so dead the windows would not even roll down that was with the yellow top so i am going to put in the dual battery dont want to be the weakest link on the trail

was thinking of a snorkel and putting the battery there since cargo space it limited in the back. the xj gets used as a daily driver thats why i love it can drive to the trail and can do a lot with it on the trail.

unfortunately i cant move it right now still looking for studs for the front from when i loss a wheel. Lucky i dont have snow on the ground yet but need to get it fixed

Was the engine running at the time?

This may sound werd but I'm looking at moving the air box or making a new one to fit on the firewall on the pasinger's side and put a Y from it and have intake from the front and the passinger's side airbox. One for high water and the other for snowy days that may cover the vent up by the windshild.

yes the engine was running and almost at the same time the check gauges light came on and died stone cold. Think the yello top was just old. Got it jump started hit the winch button and instantly died. Jump it again drove half hour home shut and off and tried to start it and it was dead. Took it to work to charge it and was no good. So it has a ac delco in it now. At work we had a guy who changes out his boat battery once a year so i have a one year old 1150 cca die hard platinum deep cycle to use as the back up. New the battery cost 275 so free is always good
