I found someone selling a d30 /d35 with 456 gears and well just could not pass up buying a d30 out of a 96 with brand new ball joint and control arm bushing AND 456 gears 200 bucks now I need to sell the d35 and try to recoup some money so I can buy 456 for my 8.8

Congrats...I wish the '96 HP axle I pulled had had 4.56 gears. Then I only would have to had regeared my 8.25.

Very nice. My 4.56 gears for the D30 were $250 alone!

That's a great deal for a regeared axle with new ball joints! Does it have a locker as well?

That's the way to do it... that's what I did with mine. Another club member was getting rid of his geared D30 (4.56s) and a Lock Rite. At the moment I can't afford to buy the parts to regear the D44, so I pulled the Lockright out of the axle I got from him and threw it in mine.
