Hey everyone. I am in need of a compatible transmission and tcase for my 2001 Xj. I am converting my 2wd to a 4wd. Located in central Florida.

AW4 are a dime a dozen. You might already have one in your Jeep. NP231J transfer cases are quite common too. If you can't find one in your area. Call these guys. They'll ship you one. I'd also maybe consider a NP241 from the Rubicon. It hangs about a 1.5" than the NP231J.

I do have the AW4 in my Jeep. Its my understanding that the 2wd transmission has a longer out put shaft and will have to be changed out to allow for a transfer case to be bolted to it. Is that true?

I have one I just rebuild a couple months ago its really strong and never been abused from my 99 xj 4x4 it's ready to install
