I like them. I am planning on running full width axles and some tube fenders to match some removable flares. This might be the ticket. How large of a tire can I stuff in there if I raise the position up a little?

Wow, you just made my decision more difficult. I like your "standard" flares but these are really nice too!

Sounds like a well thought out build plan. The new Flat front flares clear way more than our standard pocket flares. The limiting factor on tire size will be the rear wheel well. Did you plan on modifying the rear tub?

Chris is running 35s with about 5" of lift on his XJ but he's not wheeled it yet to see how well the tires clear. He may have some contact but it probably not too bad with the bump stops he's running. His family has built some awesome Jeeps and they really know what they're doing.

Are they as tuff as your first one? Will they fit stock or are they cutout and how much cutting 1,2,or 3inches or more? They do look good.

The plan is to run 38s on 8" of lift. The lift has been done for some time. I have a 2 door, and yes the rear tub will be cut out and modified for the tube fender

Thanks for all the great comments from so many people. Really makes may day!!
Our flat flares are thicker than our standard flares on the bottom. If you look at the pics, you can see the bolt pockets are underneath. To get them there, another thickness of ABS is bonded inside the flat flare with the pockets molded into it. Effectively doubling the thickness of much of the lower face of the flat flares.

The flat flares are designed to maximize the fender opening for larger tires. The front gains around 3" vertically. The rear gains 2 1/2" which is all it can do without getting deep into the wheel tub.

The flat flares only exist on my black XJ and Chris's XJ. We just got done on his earlier this week so it's not been offroad yet. I've not had the chance to really torture test them yet but with the larger opening and extra thickness they'll do even better than our standard flares.

Man, had my mind all made up to buy the regular flares, and now this...

They look really good.:D But now I have to decide to either buy, or wait.

Get those things offroad and dirty so we can see them in use and taking a beating... Either way I still want a set for my XJ when they are out!!

Ed just got some of our Hood Vents installed! They're designed to cover the holes left by Lebaron hood vents or be used in a new install too. But our Hood Vents help keep out water, snow, and mud!

Doug just posted about the discount a day ago, so I would imagine so.

These things are really stout, I was temped to do some of the tree-rubbing shown in the other videos on the other style of flare Doug offers, but I think the XJ sheet metal would fail before the flares do :D
