WJ buggy build

i have a 2000 wj 4.7 that a tree fell on. so i am now in the process of building a buggy type thing out of it. it will be street legal but will have tube doors and no front fenders and lots of trimming done. will get 4-6" of lift and 35-37" tires. the back will get cut like my old zj to make it like a truck...kinda...this will not be as nice as the zj was. this one is being built to have lots of fun and not care if something get dented. here it is as i got it and how it sits now.and it will be getting an exo cage,bumpers,winch and a custom long arm suspension

i have chopped a few. i built a really nice zj but i totaled it in nov 2011. this one is being chopped too btw.

got bored and pulled out the sawzall and cutoff wheel......rear roof section gone....

this will not be as nice as my zj was....that killed me after i rolled it. this one is being built to wheel the crap out of and look mean and sinister.

SOOOOO done already LOL... I gotta say that looks cool as is, I know it needs WAY more to be a buggy but honestly THAT looks COOL!!!:)

yes i found it on cl for $1600 with a brand ne motor and tranny. thanks cantab27.

the guy did not have insurance on it. he was upset about and had it listed for $1200...i could not do that ...i believe in karma... so i told him i could not give him $1200 he said he could not go lower and i said fine .... how about $1600.... he had a very puzzled look on his face... i said i can not take avantage of you and at that price it would bother me because you cannot get a motor for that price from a junkyard. he said thanks and i said no thank you and drove it the 110 miles home with a clear title....just a bashed in roof.

Wow, you're a good guy Troy. Truly warms my heart to hear about stories like that. I know you made that guy's day too, and probably restored a little of his faith in humanity. :happy0180:

but not sure if i am liking it......need to do more design and see if i can get it looking better

I like the design for the most part however your points at the bottom are not gonna provide ANYTHING for protection in a roll over, Im not sure if thats your goal or not but IMO if your doing a roll bar make it tie into the frame somehow! but again I DO like the design You might could use that same setup and just add some support triangulated and going through the floor to tie into the frame.

if this bar stays it will only be for lights and spare and hi-lift...not support. doing a full exo for that.
