It is official, in five weeks we are heading back to Fordyce Creek for at least three days of wheeling and possibly some on the day we arrive and leave. The dates are AUG 16 - 20. So all you Cali guys, if you want to beat the heat and see some great scenery and have some fantastic wheeling, come join us. We are giving you time to make plans. Here is where we will camp.

This is a forest service campground with maintained toilets. Creek next to the campground, at least last time were there it was flowing. Not much rain this spring though. But still a nice place with lots of trees and plenty of flat ground. Campsite is accessible with a car if you drive sanely. The wheeling in the area goes from mild to wild. Lift and locker recommended, although much of the area is accessible with a stock rig. Don't even think about it without recovery points. Good cooling system is a great idea. It is a long grade up I80 from either direction. Campsite is at about 7000" I think. Bring lots of mosquito repellant and good sunscreen. The sun at that altitude will cook you right now. I used to live in the area, I know. Civilization is not too far. Convenience store at Cisco Grove, Safeway store in Truckee about 40 min away. This is the weekend with the smallest crowd because it follows the Sierra Trek the weekend before. If you want to come and just camp, that is fine too. Nothing to prove here. We intend to have good clean family fun. Come and join us.

Mark, thanks

There are roads that stock vehicles traverse there. So don't think you will be left out of anything.

For some things I wish I still lived in Cali, I lived in Santa Rosa. My Step-dad lives in Truckee. I would love to make a trip out there in my Jeep, either for wheelin or skiing.

I went to high school in Truckee. This area is like home to me. My best friend lived across the interstate from where we will camp. It is a great state for wheeling.

My little brother goes to Truckee High. Plays defensive tackle. His squad is 39-0 in three years lol. I went to Cow mountain one time on an enduro I had when I was 17. it was awesome but i just about got lost a couple times.

I hope ya'll have a great time!

It's a great thing, God has me in this position for a reason, I am fully trusting Him, and know his plan will be great. Nervously excited to see what's in store!

It will work out. We will miss you. I do great nature worships. And you will miss your brush with divinity, that is walking on water. Next year.

Walking in water! Nature worships! Hmm... I got all my paperwork in Monday, so we will see if it pays out before the trip!
