Many thanks to Falcon Auto of Houston, Texas! They installed my lift kit on my 1998 XJ.

They also repair my "crunched" XJ. When you call them, the voice mail is always full. Don't even try to leave a message, just call again. They do great work.

Shocks removed, add-a-leaf in, "U" bolts replaced.

A closer look. Exhaust tail pipe had to be moved over a couple of inches to miss the shackle.

Driver's side done, new longer shocks installed.

Here is main reason for the lift, the tires. I didn't want to buy another set of those same tires that came on this XJ so many years ago.

Many thanks to the team at NTB on Highway 6.

Tires and wheels mounted, balancing then...

Damn it! Put the things on already! :lolsign:

http://muckleroy.com/images/jeep_lift15.jpg
ooooo pretty! Wait they have the body lifted, will those tires fit!?!?!

http://muckleroy.com/images/jeep_lift16.jpg
Of course they do! Now to get the steering wheel back to center position with a nice NTB front end alignment.

Well nothing yet. I have a diagram from JEEP-GO, but after I put on the Bushwackers, I really need to go out and flex to see if I need rear bump stops now.

i used a 2x2 square tube and now im going to get some Rusty's 2" extended bump stops for the rear. The front, i'll just add hockey pucks as needed.

that's what im doing too. I just don't feel comfortable going with anything bigger that 2" as a spacer. That is a good website too.

Some of you new guys may enjoy looking at this thread. The old hands might remember the thrill of the first lift and over-sized tires, and you newbies might enjoy it from the perspective of what you are looking forward to doing to your own XJ.

You can't see the blinkers Wayne? Oh wait for the ground to stop shaking then look again...

It's a little close I think, but it's been inspected twice like that with no issue. And certainly no issues with the local law enforcement.

Well I'm not one to defend red jeeps but, I have seen him wheel it twice. And I know of 2 other times. And to my amazement he did wheel it pretty damn hard.
