Very nice! What size are they? Also any difference in driving since they are bias ply?

Little 31x11.5's. I downsized from 32's.

I only drove them about 67 feet. So far they....roll nicely. :rotfl2:

I've had 3 sets of these on the tj. You can guess that they are my favorite tire.

those look nice I can see why they're your favorite.
I might be looking into them now that i trimmed my fenders I'll need bigger tires and I heard the ones I like have been discontinued.

What size you upgrading to?

Not only the looks get me drooling, it's the 3" chunks of mud they toss. :D

I think they changed the tread design a little. It used to have 3 stages on the lugs, the top layer being the softest and about 1/8" thick. Now it only has two stages, both almost the same thickness but the overall tread thickness seems the same as the old one. Weirdest thing..and i mean WEIRD...is that they balanced with very few weights. I'm used to having to use both sides of the wheel and sometimes weight half way around the wheel. One tire only took one little weight.

That's cool. It's funny cuz the previous tires and wheels I had on the xj are being sold to a guy who has a 99 black xj, pretty much identical to mine. What's up with all the black xj's here.......:)

I can't complain, I got the jeep for free but just had to put a new motor in it... But I love the color and it looks really nice with the limo tint I put on it...:D

And btw. I know you haven't drove much on them but let me know how they handle on the streets... I drive more on the road than I do off road but I really do like the swamper... So how do they handle? And do they mess up the gas miles? The size I'm looking at are the same as your and I'm going with a 4.5" lift from rought country. So anyways you Jeep looks sharp!!!

I bet it does. The only downside to black are scratches. Scratches on black paint really like to show themselves.

Thanks. I've had a couple sets of these. Here's what to expect:

They are HEAVY! It's backbreaking taking these out of the jeep and lifting them on the hub.

They flat spot in the morning. I'm looking forward to this when I leave to the carwash. Thump...thump...thump. It usually thumps until about a mile or two and then it goes away.

They are kinda rough on the road. You will feel more cracks and stuff on the surface of the road with these tires.

More rolling resistance and as we know, that decreases gas mileage.

That's about all I could think of. One thing to keep in mind is the PSI you run in these. I usually run a low psi, around 20-ish (20F/18R) just so I can get an even wearing tread. Anything around 25 or higher has the center lugs wearing down faster than the others. My mathematical formula tells me that 18-19 psi is ideal for my jeep.

I have a set of SSR's that have about 35% thread left that I'm using for fitment and some offroading. hey are ok, But I love the LTB's almost as much as the Bogger. I just wish they made a 35"x15.5"x15 LTB!!But I hope to go with the 35"x12.5"x15 on my current project & they are only $190 each!!HHAHAHAHA!

Later on down the road. They balanced out just fine but I know they will get difficult later on once they start wearing so I'll probably throw some in there then.

Review:

I've had these on for a while now and been doing alot of driving.

Pros:

Freakin gnarly looking tires that gets everyone's attention. I got people driving up next to me at a stop light asking me what tires those are and people at the parts store coming out and checking them out. :rotfl2:

They actually ride smoother than my E-load mickey thompson mt'z. Kinda funny since these are bias ply and mt's were radials but the difference between a E load tire and C load tire is quite noticeable.

Tank like feeling. They rumble like tank tracks. At 5 mph, or 50 mph, you will FEEL this. I love it. It may be a con for some of you but i  over that feeling.

Cons:

You ever sit on a flat chair for a long period of time and then get up with that feeling that your *** is completely flat? That's what these tires do. Leave em sit for just two hours and they thump thump thump. Leave em sit for two days and OMFG there's a 8.7 earthquake going on during the first 4 miles.

That about sums it up. I love these tires despite the everyday earthquakes that I endure.

So that flat spot means they are soft, and wear fast? How many miles do you hope/expect to get out of them? I like the look and I was thinking about these over the BFG's if/when I go to the 35" tires.

Yeah pretty soft rubber and I don't expect more than 30k out of them. I got 21k out of one set on my TJ but I sold them with about 1/4" tread left.

If you use your jeep as a heavy DD I wouldn't use these. I put on less than 3k a year so these work better for me. Now when I start my new job and start commuting 30 min both ways then I may have to choose something else when these go bald.

Well that's too bad. They are definitely a good looking tire. Very distinctive. I guess I'll stick with my 80k miles BFG's :(

The axles you have can handle it but the 30 may groan here or there. It's a little tough on the 30 but it CAN handle it if you are wise with tire placement and throttle.

They have a 34" tire that's 10.5" wide. That may fit your needs better, and it's usually dirt cheap too. I think a 10.5" wide tire is perfect for a cherokee.

I'll be getting a new set of tires a little later this month. I have decided on 33x10.50x15 BFG All-Terrains. Right now I have 32x11.50x15 BFG MT's. But I drive so much on the hi-way now I cant stand how loud the mt's are. Hopefully I will be happy with the AT's.

yj sticker has a story. The YJ rescue unit sticker was a present from my daughter. her brother/my son has a yj with a 305 locked, 410 gears and 37" tires. To date he has not been able to extract me from any stuck. I on the other hand have had to rescue his YJ on a number of occassions due to broken driveshaft, broke axle or his winch just couldn't do the job. lol We do have lots of fun together and lots of ribbing back and forth.
